Indonesia and Australia strengthen diplomatic ties and security with Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2023

Indonesia and Australia's Indo-Pacific Endeavour (IPE) was held on August 1, 2023, marking the beginnig of a series of activities in the program.
The IPE 2023 program supports the Australian government's focus in boosting diplomatic partnership and security across Southeast Asia, one of which with Indonesia.
First Admiral McCormack, the commander of HMAS ANZAC from Australia said that Indonesia is Australia's closest and most prominent partner. Both countries have mutual interest in achieving a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
"Australia and Indonesia share the longest maritime delimitation zone and are natural maritime partners. Maritime cooperation is one of the five pillars in the Australia-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," said McCormack.
The two nations will conduct several bilateral activities, including submarine launching and exchange of rescue knowledge, gender security, and peace workshop, and other activities.
HMAS ANZAC, which is commandeered by First Admiral McCormack, was welcomed by Commander Baidhowi, Deputy Commander of the Main Naval Base V, in North Jamrud Dock, Tanjung Perak, Surabaya, East Java on August 1, 2023. The ship will stay docked in Tanjung Perak until August 4, 2023.
The ship will be a staging place for two main agendas. First, a religious discussion inviting clergies in the Indonesian Navy, and second concerning gender, inviting policewomen and the Women's Naval Service Corps.
In addition, through IPE 2023, the Australian Navy, Air Force, and Military will also conduct a series of activities including transfer of knowledge and training.
