PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk. (AMMN) has set the Indonesian mining industry abuzz with its recent revelation regarding the Elang Deposit, which boasts an astounding 1.4 billion tons of mineral reserves.

This announcement marks a significant milestone in Indonesia's mining sector, hinting at potential transformations and economic impacts in the years to come.

The discovery, meticulously calculated and verified through stringent methodologies, signifies a momentous breakthrough for AMMN. Utilizing assessments based on specific assumptions, Amman's experts collaborated with the Australasian Joint Ore Reserves Committee to produce the JORC report, confirming the magnitude of the Elang Deposit's wealth.

AMMN director David Gibbs elaborated on the strategic implications of this discovery during the Amman 2024 Media Briefing on March 27, 2024, emphasizing the company's intention to sustain operations in Elang until 2050. This commitment underscores not only AMMN's long-term vision but also its pivotal role in shaping Indonesia's mining trajectory.

Moreover, the timeline for the development and exploitation of the Elang Deposit, slated to commence around 2027, unveils a strategic roadmap for AMMN's future endeavors. With meticulous planning and continuous exploration efforts, AMMN aims to optimize the potential of the Elang Deposit while adhering to sustainable mining practices.

In addition to its immediate plans for Elang, AMMN's foresight extends to the broader context of Indonesia's mining landscape. The impending closure of the Batu Hijau mine by 2030 necessitates proactive measures, and AMMN is poised to fill this void. By strategically positioning the Elang Deposit as a successor to Batu Hijau, AMMN anticipates a seamless transition in mining operations while ensuring continued economic contributions to the region.

Beyond the Elang Deposit, AMMN remains vigilant in identifying new prospects within its mining portfolio. The recent identification of copper and gold prospects within the Mining Business License Area (IUPK) of PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT) underscores the company's commitment to sustained growth and innovation.
