PT Tripatra Engineers and Constructors (Tripatra) has invested in the development of biofuel ecosystem technology and infrastructure, playing an active role in the development of biofuels, including building production and distribution plant facilities.

Established in 1973, Tripatra focuses on various business sectors such as new and renewable energy, petrochemicals, oil and gas, electricity, metals and minerals. Currently, the company is led by Raymond Naldi Rasfuldi as President Director & CEO.

Ananto Wardono, Director of Green Energy Development at Tripatra, said the investment is used to mass produce second-generation biofuels.

He said Tripatra believes that strengthening the national biofuel industry is the key to achieving long-term energy security and environmental sustainability.

“Second-generation biofuels are a type of biofuel produced from a more complex raw material processing process compared to first-generation biofuels,” Ananto said on Monday, September 30, 2024.

In general, first-generation biofuels use food ingredients. Meanwhile, the second generation uses non-food raw materials, such as agricultural waste and lignocellulose biomass that utilizes wood, sawdust, and algae.

“With a focus on renewable energy, green chemistry, and carbon mitigation, we are ready to face opportunities in the future,” he said.

Through this initiative, the company not only contributes to the energy transition efforts in Indonesia, but also opens up new business opportunities and creates added value for the community.

“Therefore, we have a significant war in developing the biofuel ecosystem in Indonesia, including in producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), which is a sustainable aviation fuel with renewable sources that can significantly reduce carbon emissions compared to conventional fossil fuels,” Ananto said.

Tripatra is optimistic that Indonesia has great opportunities in developing more efficient and environmentally friendly biofuel processing technology.

“Tripatra will continue to target opportunities in the green energy sector, one of which is in the development of biofuel infrastructure, and continue to encourage innovation in sustainable engineering solutions. That way, we can compete in the global market and make a real contribution to clean energy,” he said.

Benny Joesoep, Finance and Commercial Director at Tripatra said that Tripatra has entered a new phase as a player in accelerating energy transition in Indonesia. Therefore, Tripatra continues to be committed to supporting the government towards accelerating the energy transition, he said.
