Fifth C-130J-30 Super Hercules Aircraft arrives in Jakarta

The fifth C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft of the Indonesian Air Force with tail number A-1342 produced by Lockheed Martin, the United States, arrived at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

The aircraft was welcomed by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Marshal Andyawan Martono Putra. Upon landing, the aircraft was greeted with the water salute tradition as a sign of welcome to the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base.

The ferry flight of C-130J-30 Super Hercules A-1344 aircraft began from Marietta in Georgia to San Diego before it flew to Honolulu, continued to Marshal Island, Guam and the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base. The flight was led by Commander of the 31st Air Squadron of the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Lieutenant Colonel Alfonsus Fatma Astara Duta, accompanied by Major Ulung P. and Flight Engineer First Lieutenant Diky.

The C-130J-30 Super Hercules is the last aircraft ordered by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense. Four previous aircraft have arrived in March, June and August 2023 and in January 2024. All the five cargo aircraft will enforce the 31st Air Squadron of the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base.
