The House of Representatives (DPR) has approved Ricky Perdana Gozali as Deputy Governor of the Indonesian Central Bank (BI) for the 2025–2030 term following a fit and proper test conducted by the House’s finance and monetary affairs Commission XI.

The confirmation was made during the 22nd Plenary Session of the House’s fourth sitting period for the 2024–2025 legislative year, held at the parliamentary complex in Senayan on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

“Can the report from Commission XI regarding the fit and proper test of the BI Deputy Governor candidate be approved?” House Speaker Puan Maharani asked during the session. The proposal was then unanimously approved by the attending lawmakers.

Commission XI chairman Mukhamad Misbakhun said that the confirmation process was conducted in accordance with Presidential Letter (Surpres) No. R-22/Pres/05/2025 dated May 6, 2025. The letter proposed two candidates: Ricky Perdana Gozali, who currently serves as Head of BI’s Jakarta Representative Office, and Dicky Kartikoyono, the current Head of the Payment Systems Department.

After deliberation on July 2, Commission XI unanimously selected Ricky as the nominee to replace outgoing Deputy Governor Doni Primanto Joewono, whose term ends on August 11.

“Ricky is a seasoned central bank official who demonstrates professionalism and a clear understanding of the responsibilities required of a BI Deputy Governor,” Misbakhun cited.

“He also presented a strong vision and mission, with well-defined targets and programs to support the BI Governor going forward,” he added.
