TikTok CEO plans on investing in Indonesia

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew confirmed that the content creation platform company will be making investments in Indonesia. TikTok is said to have plans to make US$ 10 billion investment, which equals to IDR 149.5 trillion.

"We will make billions of Dollars of investments in the next three to five years," Chew said during the TikTok Southeast Asia Impact Forum in Jakarta on Thursday (15/6).

Chew, however, did not mentioned details on the exact number of the investment.

He added that the company is hoping to make more investments in Indonesia, and Southeast Asia in general because the company has around 8,000 employees in Southeast Asia, and 2,000 employees in Indonesia.

Chew claimed that he can see good prospects for growth in Indonesia.

Furthermore, he said that he has a certain flair for Southeast Asia because she was born and raised in Singapore.

He even said that he had visited Danau Toba in North Sumatera when she was six years old.
